Infrastructure Officer (Data Centre) - Ref: RT06125
G7: £35,412 - £38,220 per annum.

This is a unique opportunity to apply for this exciting and important role, supporting the design and development of all Data Centre infrastructure management systems within Walsall Council.

You should have knowledge in such technology areas as Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Exchange & O365 are preferred as well as wider experience in Microsoft Windows server platforms, including backup & recovery.

To be considered you will be qualified by experience within an DaTS Data Centre infrastructure environment and have attained or possess equivalent professional experience to Microsoft Certified system engineer and ITIL foundation certificate standard.

You will design, plan, manage and facilitate the installation, integration, testing and maintenance of DaTS Data Centre infrastructure management systems ensuring all quality, asset management and configuration management processes are followed.

An important aspect of this role is the ability to liaise with managers, service delivery teams and the service desk to ensure that all changes are communicated and understood by colleagues and staff.

There is currently a requirement to work from home however, there is also a requirement for frequent site visits therefore, suitable facilities for working from home are necessary for this role. You should have access to personal broadband that is appropriate to enable you to work from home and you should also have a suitable work area.

This post is covered by the Government's Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
