Overview
Are you outgoing and friendly, happy to join in with activities and passionate about your work? If so, you could be the ideal Personal Assistant to support my son to access his community.
The post is for 3 hours a week to assist him in accessing activities in the community, increasing his confidence and independence. This direct payment is funded by the local authority through the Direct Payments scheme and aims to reduce social isolation and help him learn new skills independent of the family.
Duties
* Support access to social opportunities locally and occasionally further afield to reduce his social isolation.
* Assist him in engaging in hobbies, sports, adventures, and visiting cafes and social events.
* Manage his money and support him in using his own funds responsibly.
* Provide safety supervision and emergency care, including use of his Epi-pen if needed.
* Maintain confidentiality and respect his privacy at all times.
* Use own transport with a full, clean driving licence and keep business use of the vehicle within company insurance.
Person Specification
* Proactive, energetic, outgoing, with a kind nature and good sense of humour.
* Patient, responsible, calm, honest, treating the person with respect and dignity.
* Reliable time‑keeping and ability to keep the family updated with activities and concerns.
* Self‑motivated, with initiative and a positive, bubbly personality.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Full driving licence and ability to use a car for work within insurance coverage.
Requirements
* Own transport and a full, clean driving licence.
* Successful enhanced DBS check (no cost to the applicant).
* Up to date National Insurance number and eligibility to work in the UK.
* Wages paid in arrears on a 4‑week basis.
* Mandatory training identified as relevant to this post; failure to attend may lead to withdrawal of the offer.
* Probationary period of up to 6 months.
