We are seeking to appoint a full or part time qualified dispenser to be a key member of our busy dispensing team. Duties include dispensing of medication, monitoring of repeat prescriptions, maintaining stock levels, liaison with patients and key members of our clinical team.
We are a busy growing semi-rural practice (part dispensing) with three GP partners based over two sites. We positively encourage staff development and we are a training and teaching practice.

To take note of alert messages.
To recognise patients that would benefit from the delivery service and fill out the appropriate forms.
To understand and work with the EPS system using Proscript.
To order drugs and containers in line with practice protocols.
To answer patient medication queries and give advice where necessary or requested within competence, directing these to a clinician when required.
To stay up to date with current developments.
To ensure cleanliness of the Dispensary and equipment
To fully observe all legal requirements relevant to dispensing practices including the NHS regulations and all practice protocols.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
* Dispensing — To safely dispense drugs in line with prescriptions issued by Clinicians and follow checking procedures; To provide a repeat prescription service within 3 working days of a request; To recognise dispensing and non-dispensing addresses; To take note of alert messages; To recognise patients that would benefit from the delivery service and fill out the appropriate forms; To understand and work with the EPS system using Proscript; To order drugs and containers in line with practice protocols; To collect and record prescription charges and ensure completion of exemption claims (make patient aware of pre-payment); To answer patient medication queries and give advice where necessary or requested within competence, directing these to a clinician when required; To stay up to date with current developments; To ensure cleanliness of the Dispensary and equipment; To fully observe all legal requirements relevant to dispensing practices including the NHS regulations and all practice protocols; To integrate with other members of the Practice team; To be able to prepare Dosette boxes for patients which have been approved by the GP; To complete mandatory training; To maintain the Controlled Drugs (CD) book; To attend practice and dispensing meetings.
* Technology — To have a sound competence in the practice IT systems (EMIS, Proscript, Windows); To accurately maintain the dispensing and ordering systems; To work with the practice team to develop and implement new systems; To operate the till; To operate the card machine; To use EPS Proscript and access the prescription tracker
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential - Evidence of good interpersonal skills.
Have a dispensing or other relevant training.
