Teacher – Cluster Enhanced ALN Provision

Mumbles, Swansea
Start Date: September 2026
Full Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm

We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and skilled teacher to join our Cluster Enhanced Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Provision, based within our welcoming primary school in Mumbles.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping children thrive both academically and emotionally. The provision supports primary-aged pupils with a range of additional learning needs within a nurturing, structured and highly supportive environment.

Working closely with experienced Teaching Assistants, the ALNCo, families and external agencies, you will play a central role in creating personalised learning experiences that build confidence, independence and positive relationships.

About the Provision

Our Cluster Enhanced Provision supports pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs, including:

* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* ADHD and attention regulation difficulties
* Speech, language and communication needs
* Social, emotional and mental health needs
* Anxiety, attachment and emotional regulation difficulties
* Moderate learning difficulties and sensory needs

The provision is fully integrated within the wider primary school community, enabling pupils to access both specialist support and mainstream opportunities where appropriate.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

* Deliver engaging and differentiated learning experiences tailored to individual pupil needs.
* Develop and review Individual Development Plans (IDPs) in line with the ALN Code for Wales.
* Use assessment and pupil progress data to inform teaching and interventions.
* Create and implement behaviour and emotional support plans.
* Support pupils’ communication, emotional wellbeing, independence and social development.
* Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, school staff, parents/carers and outside agencies.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture built on consistency, trust and restorative practice.
* Support pupils to successfully engage within both the provision and wider school life.

Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and Behaviour Support

A key aspect of this role involves developing high-quality, person-centred Individual Development Plans (IDPs) that reflect each pupil’s strengths, needs and long-term outcomes.

You will:

* Set clear and achievable targets for pupils.
* Monitor and review progress regularly.
* Contribute to multi-agency meetings and annual reviews.
* Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning and emotional needs.

The role also requires confidence in supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional regulation needs through:

* Positive behaviour support strategies
* Trauma-informed and restorative approaches
* Emotional regulation interventions
* De-escalation and relationship-based practice
* Consistent routines and structured support

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Has experience working with primary-aged pupils with ALN/SEN.
* Has a strong understanding of inclusive and nurturing practice.
* Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
* Is patient, adaptable and resilient.
* Works well as part of a team and values collaborative practice.
* Is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
