Teaching Assistant – Uckfield

About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting children in their learning and helping them succeed in the classroom? We are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary schools in Uckfield.
In this role, you will support class teachers in delivering engaging lessons, assist pupils with their learning, and help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You may work with individuals or small groups of pupils to reinforce learning, support classroom activities, and encourage confidence and independence.
This is a flexible opportunity offering day-to-day, short-term, and long-term placements, with the potential to secure permanent positions.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery.
• Provide individual and small group support to help pupils engage with learning.
• Assist in preparing learning materials and classroom resources.
• Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence, and participation.
• Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support classroom behaviour management in line with school policies.
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential).
• A positive, patient, and proactive approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• A flexible and professional attitude.
