Our Clinical Floor Coordinator will be instrumental in the effective and efficient running of the clinical floor across all referral disciplines in the hospital, including Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Orthopaedics & Soft Tissue Surgery.
Reporting to the Clinical Nursing Manager, the Clinical Floor Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the clinical floor runs effectively by planning referral procedures and leading teams to complete workflows as scheduled. Due to the dynamic nature of referral and emergency work, workflows may change, requiring decisive action and resource reallocation. You will not undertake clinical work as standard but must demonstrate high clinical knowledge.
Duties will include…
1. Be responsible for the throughput of cases across all departments, working with clinicians, nursing, and leadership teams to oversee daily scheduling, including emergencies and delays.
2. Input planned procedures into the scheduling system, ensuring real-time updates.
3. Prioritise workload to meet patient needs and organise the clinical team's workload accordingly.
4. Notify relevant departments of schedule changes.
5. Liaise with the referrals administrative team to facilitate emergency and urgent referrals.
6. Manage the clinical schedule based on staffing and facility availability.
7. Monitor and audit hospital efficiency, implementing improvements as needed.

Hours designed with flexibility in mind
This part-time position averages 29.25 hours per week, with shifts Monday-Wednesday and 1 in 4 Saturdays, from 08:00 to 17:30.
