Salary
* Social Worker NQSW / SCP 01-03 – £40,182 to £42,060 plus £3,000 recruitment & retention per annum
* Qualified Social Worker / SCP 04-08 – £43,680 to £48,003 plus £5,000 recruitment & retention per annum
About the Role
The role involves working in a multi‑agency service to plan and deliver services aimed at supporting children within the youth justice system to fulfil their potential and make positive contributions to society and promote a childhood removed from the justice system.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out assessments, prepare reports and manage statutory Court Orders and Out of Court Disposals ensuring interventions are desistance focused while working to keep children and the community safe using Redbridge policies and procedures.
* Engage children and families facing complex challenges, building on the positives while understanding the impact of exploitation, trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
* Implement intervention plans, making best use of targeted resources to deliver focused outcomes, and maintain up‑to‑date records in line with National Standards.
* Interpret legislation and translate it into practice; demonstrate up‑to‑date knowledge of childcare and youth justice legislation.
* Work within tight deadlines, undertake challenging work, and maintain records under a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
* Embrace the Child First approach to develop children’s pro‑social identity for sustainable desistance, leading to safer communities and fewer victims.
