Italian Teacher – Secondary
Location: Rickmansworth
Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term

We are working closely with a respected secondary school in the Rickmansworth area that is recognised for its strong sense of community, high academic standards, and commitment to developing well-rounded young people. Languages are highly valued within the school, with a clear emphasis on cultural appreciation, global awareness, and academic excellence.
The school is seeking a passionate and skilled Italian Teacher to join their MFL department on a long-term basis from April 2026. This role is ideal for a dedicated educator with proven experience teaching GCSE Italian, who can inspire students to develop confidence, fluency, and a genuine interest in language learning.
The Role
Teach Italian across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that develop all four language skills
Support students in achieving strong outcomes through effective exam preparation
Foster an appreciation of Italian culture, language, and global citizenship
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality Italian lessons aligned with curriculum and examination requirements
Differentiate teaching to support learners of varying abilities
Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
Support pupils’ confidence, communication skills, and academic development
Work collaboratively within the MFL department to develop resources and curriculum content
Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as cultural activities, trips, or clubs
The Ideal Candidate
Experience teaching GCSE Italian is essential
QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (preferred but not essential)
Strong subject knowledge and effective language teaching strategies
A calm, professional approach with high expectations of student behaviour and achievement
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
