This one has woodland, open space, animals, outdoor learning environments and opportunities for young people to engage with education in a completely different way.
We are supporting a specialist SEND school near Battle with the recruitment of a Forest School Teacher to join their team from September 2026.
This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialist setting that takes a creative and therapeutic approach to education, helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, independence and engagement through outdoor learning experiences.
Situated on a working farm-style site, the school offers a learning environment unlike many others, where relationships, practical experiences and personalised approaches sit at the heart of what they do.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work alongside the school's existing Forest School provision, supporting and delivering engaging outdoor learning experiences for pupils with additional needs.
The role offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a well-established team while developing specialist knowledge and experience within both Forest School and SEND education.
For the right individual, there may also be opportunities to access support and training towards becoming a qualified teacher in the future.

A recognised Forest School qualification would be highly advantageous.
Experience within SEND education is welcomed, though schools are often open to individuals with transferable skills and the right attitude.

* Enhanced child-only DBS on the Update Service required
