We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced SH&E Professional Health to lead our Environment business line. This managerial role reports directly to the Environment & Energy SH&E Director and works within our established, high‑performing SH&E Team.
The Environment SH&E Lead will be responsible for delivering the Environment & Energy SH&E strategy within Environment, developing bespoke initiatives and campaigns to achieve key targets. The role scope includes collaborating and co‑creating internal and client operational standards, technical health & safety deliverables, overseeing digital system development, creating culture and initiative campaigns, formulating reports, and embedding health, safety and environment culture.
Job Responsibilities
* Safety Champion: Act as a prominent advocate for health (including wellbeing), safety and the environment, fostering continuous improvement and innovation to cultivate a mature safety culture.
* Management Systems Implementation: Collaborate with stakeholders to establish, apply and enhance health and safety protocols, systems and procedures.
* Project Team Engagement: Engage with project teams to develop health and safety approaches and oversee their execution.
* SH&E Promotion: Author, support and execute health and safety initiatives and campaigns, track results and evaluate program effectiveness.
* SH&E Advice, Support & Guidance: Offer expert counsel to clients, partners and project personnel.
* Team Collaboration: Work with peers, colleagues and managers to form a cohesive team that respects, supports and works together toward common goals.
* Meeting Participation: Represent AECOM SH&E within project and internal meetings.
* Reporting: Generate written and presented reports on status, performance and improvements for managed works and projects, reporting to the SH&E Director, project leadership and clients.
* Healthy Starts: Review and refine health and safety project deliverables to ensure successful initiation and progress.
* Assurance: Ensure adherence to and effectiveness of the assurance programme across all projects.
* Accident Review, Management & Investigations: Conduct investigations of incidents and accidents, identify corrective actions and integrate lessons for prevention.
Qualifications
* Health and Safety Manager experience within consultancy, construction or a related industry.
* Holder of chartered IOSH membership or an equivalent credential, with formal health and safety qualifications and relevant sector‑specific training.
