Planner & Programme Planning Manager – Airfields & Civils
Location: Gatwick Airport | Hybrid Working

Red Sky Personnel is recruiting for two planning positions supporting a major infrastructure programme at Gatwick Airport. These roles offer the chance to work on a wide range of airfield and civils projects—from facilities expansion to large-scale upgrades—within a live, safety-critical environment.

1. Planner – Airfields & Civils
Overview:
Work alongside delivery teams on infrastructure projects up to £50m in value, supporting the development of robust schedules, monitoring progress, and assisting in the coordination of key project controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (Primavera P6)
Monitor progress and manage risk around the critical path
Coordinate multidisciplinary constraints across integrated programmes
Support delay analysis and programme recovery
Review and validate contractor schedules and performance
Assist with quantity take-offs and planning performance reporting
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent in Construction, Engineering, or related field
3+ years’ experience planning infrastructure projects over £10m
Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Excel
Knowledge of NEC contracts and live operational environments
Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Aviation project experience beneficial but not essential
2. Programme Planning Manager – Major Projects
Overview:
Lead the planning function across a high-profile programme of construction and infrastructure works at Gatwick. You’ll work across the full project lifecycle—from concept to closeout—ensuring alignment with strategic goals and the delivery of performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and develop planning standards and assurance processes
Create and maintain programme schedules with multiple interfaces
Oversee control programmes, delay analysis, and compensation events
Provide leadership and mentoring to junior planners
Drive programme reporting, risk management, and schedule performance
Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders
Requirements:
Significant experience as a Planning Manager on major infrastructure programmes
Proven ability to lead planning teams and manage complex construction schedules
Advanced Primavera P6 skills and sound commercial understanding
Experience in infrastructure or civils delivery, ideally in operational environments
Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
