Job overview
Come and join our community nursing services as our Paediatric Haemoglobinopathy Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a new opportunity that will support both the community and our new Hospital MMUH
As part of the Haemoglobinopathy improvement programme, we are looking for a passionate and caring Community Haemoglobinopathy Nurse to work jointly with our specialist teams and community services, in serving our sickle cell and thalassaemia population across our county.

In conjunction with the haemoglobinopathies teams, the post holder will contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of a high-quality specialist haemoglobinopathies service in the community.
The post holder will provide care to people with sickle cell disease and thalassaemia in the home and in the hospital when required to improve standards and equity of care.
Main duties of the job
In conjunction with the haemoglobinopathies teams across the West Midlands, the post holder will contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of a high-quality specialist haemoglobinopathies service in the community. The post holder will provide care to children with sickle cell disease and thalassaemia in the home and in the hospital when required to improve standards and equity of care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will provide specialist nursing support ensuring the quality-of-care provision to children and young people who have haemoglobinopathy disorders within the Acute and Community setting .
Person specification
Experience
* NMC registration sub part one children
* Experience of working with children with Sickle Cell/ Thalassaemia/ Haemoglobinopathy conditions
* Evidence of continuous professional development relating to the post educated to Masters /Post Graduate Level/ relevant experience
* Significant clinical experience -Specialist knowledge and experience within the area of speciality
* Management experience ensuring clinical outcomes are met
* Experience in recruitment and supporting the retention of staff
* Clinical experience of assesse patients/writing care, plans,and implements care in a variety of settings
* Providing highly specialist advice to others
* Able to maintains clinical records, test results and interpretation of data
* Provides specialist education and training to other staff, students and/or patients/clients
* Evidence of leading /being involved in research and leads clinical audits in own specialist area
* Experience in Service Improvement and Service development relating to specialist area of Haemoglobinopathy
Qualifications
* Evidence of Mentoring/assessin
* Evidence of Child protection skills and training level 3
* Clinical leadership training
* Non-Medical Prescriber Masters/post Graduate
