GSL Education are hiring a skilled Design Technology Teacher to work with schools in Barnsley, including the S70 and S71 areas, delivering engaging lessons that encourage hands-on learning and problem-solving. As a Design Technology (DT) Teacher, you will deliver well-structured lessons that help students explore design processes, develop technical skills, and apply creative thinking in a supportive classroom and workshop environment. Main Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum. Teach practical skills such as designing, making, and evaluating products. Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop or classroom environment. Encourage creativity, innovation, and independent thinking. Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback. Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum delivery. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Experience working as a Design Technology Teacher in a school setting. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Knowledge of workshop safety procedures and practical teaching methods. A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). What’s in It for You?
