Core Activity
* Liaise with the QFI’s regarding device availability, scheduled maintenance and unscheduled fault resolution.
* Manage Simulator technicians in their daily tasks and responsibilities.
* Daily, prepare the Pilot training devices for Customer use and assist with mission specific preparations.
* Undertake scheduled & unscheduled maintenance to maximize device availability, recording all maintenance activities performed.
* Perform maintenance in a safe manner in accordance with the documented maintenance & risk procedures.
* Diagnose faults and perform remedial maintenance (i.e. remove and replace unserviceable parts) in the most time efficient way possible, maximising device availability.
* Raise Fault Reports & queries, identifying items requiring repair or replacement.
* Record spares consumption for each training device.
* Follow the spares replenishment process in accordance with the relevant BAE Systems procurement processes alongside the logistics team when required.
* Follow the tool control process as described within the relevant Part 145 Acceptable Means of Compliance documentation.
* Aid the ZTF reporting process via the Daily Start up meeting and required Supporting pack data.
Key Accountabilities
* Follow safe working procedures.
* Perform maintenance in a safe manner.
* Understand the hazards and follow the mitigation.
* Understand and follow the risk assessments.
* Be responsible for their own personal safety, maintaining their safety training currency.
* Be familiar with and adhere to the contents of the relevant CONOPS documentation & Maintenance Safety Management Plan.
* Ensure that the devices are ‘safe to use’ when handed over for Customer use.
* Report all accidents, incidents and near-miss events in accordance with the Maintenance organisations safety management processes & procedures.
* Assist in the control of visiting Contractors and VIP guests.
Requirements
* The candidate will have a background in Avionic simulation systems and have an experienced Information Technology background. Note that device specific local training will be provided.
* Alternatively, the candidate may have a background in military aviation as a technician from an Engineering discipline, preferably Avionics, Electrical or IT, including an Engineering Apprenticeship qualification (NVQ level 3) or City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent.
* Ensure personal compliance with the risk assessments, SHE policies and procedures.
* Human Factors- Standard Course Specification.
* E&PW Awareness- Standard Course Specification.
* ITAR Awareness- Standard Course Specification.
* IT Literate.
