CareTech Community Services established in 1993 has 250 services with continuous growth with new developments/services. CareTech Community Services is a national provider of support for people with complex and challenging behaviours associated with autism, learning disabilities, mental health illness and neurological conditions. We support people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and also in residential care. We are committed to providing the highest levels of care to our residents. To enable us to do this we need caring and dedicated professionals to deliver first class care. All applicants will be subject to satisfactory references and all employees are checked against the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). CareTech are proud to announce they are a Disability Confident Leader. Children’s Residential Team Leader Location: Salford, Manchester Pay: £15-£15.50 per hour plus £30 per sleep in Extraordinary Days Every Day At Cambian, you’re not just working - you’re shaping futures, furthermore as a Residential Team Leader based within the Manchester region every moment you spend with our young people (ages 8–18) helps them feel safe, valued and supported. A simple "How was your day?", a shared laugh over a board game or encouragement during a tough moment - these small interactions build trust and shape lives. Some days will be challenging but every breakthrough, every smile and every step forward will remind you why this work truly matters. What You’ll Do As a Residential Team Leader, you will support young people with their daily routines; Getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities. Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping. Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support. Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects. Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care. Where You’ll Do It The home is a dual home, which means 2 children can live there, with 2 staff being on shift each day too. It’s a detached home in Salford with a large front garden and back garden. It has parks close by, and is close to Salford Hospital. The home is decorated well throughout. At the moment the home is closed and the plan is to recruit a full staff team before opening the home to referrals. This gives us a unique opportunity to start from scratch almost and make the home how we want it. At the moment the team members we do have are working in other homes to build some experience before coming together in our home when we have a full team. That means each staff member can bring something to the home which they may have learned from working in other homes. We support each other, and we come together to support our young people too. We take the young people on activities, holidays, and support them with any needs they may have. This could be by helping them keep their bedroom tidy, completing support sessions on personal hygiene and taking them to health appointments. It’s all about being a positive role model. Shift patterns tend to be a 24-hour shift, starting and finishing at 10am (including an overnight sleep) and then two days off, working 10 or 11 shifts per month. Who You Are Warm, patient, a great listener and encourager - focused on achieving outcomes for others. No prior experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide the training.
