We are recruiting for an established international organisation seeking a skilled Materials Planner / Supply Chain Planner to join their supply chain team in Ross-on-Wye. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring product availability, managing inventory performance, and supporting business growth within a fast-paced manufacturing and supply chain environment.
Following an initial training period, you will benefit from hybrid working while working alongside a highly experienced and supportive team.
The Role
As a Materials Planner / Supply Chain Planner, you will be responsible for managing inventory levels, planning stock requirements, supporting production scheduling activities, and ensuring materials are available to meet customer demand.
Working closely with procurement, operations, and supply chain teams, you will analyse planning data, maintain stock accuracy, and drive improvements across the planning process.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage materials planning and inventory control activities to ensure product availability and minimise stock shortages
* Develop and maintain production and supply plans based on business forecasts and demand requirements
* Monitor stock levels, inventory performance, and Days Inventory Held (DIH) targets
* Utilise MRP and ERP systems to manage material requirements and purchasing activities
* Raise and manage purchase orders for assigned product groups
* Work closely with procurement, production, operations, and supply chain teams to optimise planning performance
* Analyse planning data and generate reports to support business decision-making
* Identify supply chain risks and implement solutions to maintain continuity of supply
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across inventory management and planning processes

You will ideally have:
* Experience working within manufacturing, FMCG, engineering, construction products, or a related environment
* Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and supply chain operations
* Experience using MRP, ERP, or planning systems
* Strong analytical and reporting skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* A proactive and problem-solving approach
