Location: Stockport (SK3)
Start: Flexible / ASAP
Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week for the core nanny role, Monday–Friday (before and after nursery). There is flexibility long-term, and the opportunity to take on additional hours if you would also like to support with the optional household support role.
About Our Family
It is just myself and my son, and we live in a quiet, gated community in Stockport. He is nearly 3 and attends a nursery next door to our home (around a 30-second walk). He is a happy, curious little boy who thrives with calm routines, gentle structure, and consistent care.
I'm a neurodivergent parent (ADHD and currently being assessed for autism), and I'm looking for someone who understands how important a calm, supportive home environment is not just for children, but for parents too. I will soon be starting work in a hybrid role, and while I enjoy my job, I know I will struggle to balance work, parenting, and home life without the right support in place. Having help with structure and routine allows me to regulate properly, avoid burnout, and show up as the best parent I can be for my son. Creating a steady, low-stress environment is a priority for our home, and I'm looking for someone who values and supports that approach.
The Role
I'm looking for a kind, reliable, and emotionally aware nanny to support with before-school and after-school care, with some light, child-related household support to help the day run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Morning Support (7:00am - 9:00am) 2 Hrs
* Help my son wake up and get ready for the day
* Prepare breakfast and support his morning routine
* Pack nursery bag (nappies, wipes, snacks, etc.)
* Encourage independence in an age-appropriate way
* Tidy up after breakfast
* Walk to nursery for 9:00am drop-off
Afternoon Support (3:00pm - 6:00pm) 3 Hrs
* Collect my son from nursery at 3:00pm
* Prepare a snack and evening meal
* Organise calm play or activities at home
* Support emotional regulation and wind-down time
* Light tidying (toys, kitchen surfaces, dishwasher, light hoovering if needed)
* Run his bath just before 6:00pm (parent takes over afterwards)
Household Support
household support may include:
* Light laundry or ironing
* General household tidying and day-to-day management
* Food Shopping and Managing Household Essentials
* Meal planning and preparation for myself (I can struggle with timings and regular eating)
* Organising and general household support
* Helping me create structure and containment so I can be the best parent possible
* Occasional admin or planning support (e.g. appointments, birthday planning)
Any additional hours or responsibilities would always be discussed openly and agreed together, once routines feel settled and everyone feels comfortable.
Hours & Flexibility
* Nursery hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm
* Core nanny hours: 7:00am – 9:00am and 3:00pm – 6:00pm
* Household Support hours: To be confirmed and agreed upon.
* Monday to Friday: Possibilty for occasional weekend work but not a requirement
About You
You might be a great fit if you are:
* Calm, patient, and emotionally attuned
* Reliable and organised, but flexible and low-pressure
* Confident caring for toddlers and supporting routines
* Happy to work collaboratively within a family home
* Understanding of neurodivergence (ADHD / autism) lived or professional experience is a big plus
Practical Details
* Private parking available within a gated community
* household support may be the option for the role to be recognised as a carer for parking purposes (e.g. Blue Badge use), depending on eligibility.
* Nursery is next door (no driving required for drop-off/pick-up)
* Pay and start date to be discussed - A potential start date of 24th Febuary
