What you’ll be doing
As Head of Software Engineering, you’ll lead a team of six (and growing), including Engineers and Technical Leads. You’ll set the direction, raise the bar, and champion engineering excellence across the business.
You’ll be responsible for:
1. Defining and executing the engineering strategy aligned with business goals
2. Driving best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud architecture
3. Leading and mentoring Principal Engineers, Technical Leads, and ICs
4. Partnering with Product, UX, and Delivery teams to ship meaningful, scalable products
5. Advocating for secure, stable, and scalable systems built for real-world traffic
6. Championing a high-performance culture with space for growth, autonomy, and learning
7. Driving innovation through AI tooling, automation, and emerging tech
8. Maintaining documentation and cross-functional clarity with Platform Engineering
9. Owning agile practices and ensuring effective sprint planning and delivery rituals
What we’re looking for

Tech & Architecture
10. Deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures
11. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and AWS/Azure/GCP
12. Background in high-traffic platforms ideally e-commerce or bookings
13. Familiarity with payment systems, PCI compliance, and search/recommendation tooling
Industry Context
14. Bonus if you’ve worked in travel tech, PMS, or with seasonal products
Leadership & Culture
15. Experience leading senior engineers and building technical teams
16. Strong belief in collaboration, mentoring, and autonomy
17. Skilled at balancing speed with long-term platform stability
Delivery Mindset
18. Expertise in Agile, Lean, and DevOps ways of working
19. Excellent communicator across technical and non-technical audiences
