Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic General Assistants to support catering operations in our care homes. This role involves helping with food preparation, meal service, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring residents enjoy a positive dining experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesCleaning & Housekeeping
* Follow cleaning and housekeeping schedules set by the Home Manager/Housekeeper.
* Clean resident bedrooms, self-contained flats, communal areas, and offices.
* Maintain hygienic and tidy store areas and equipment.
* Use cleaning materials and equipment correctly and safely in line with COSHH requirements.
* Handle laundry tasks including washing, ironing, and folding clothing and linens.
Catering Support
* Assist with the preparation and serving of healthy and nutritious food under the Cook's instruction.
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene standards, and safe food practices.
* Check and organise incoming supplies and maintain stock accuracy.
* Support enjoyable mealtime experiences by assisting in food presentation and dining room setup.

Essential Criteria
* Compassionate, caring, and understanding of older people.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to read, write, and work with numbers.
* Basic IT skills (email, text, simple systems).
* Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience in a similar role or in older adult services.
* Food Hygiene Certificate.
Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 1 month
Pay: £12.44-£13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
