We are recruiting for a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (Paediatrics) to lead the neurodevelopmental service on the Isle of Wight.
You will take a leading role independently, providing clinical expertise as the Senior Physiotherapy Clinical Specialist for neurodevelopmental disorders within community settings.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Leading the neonatal follow-up service, early intervention, and the CPIP service.
2. Acting as a clinical expert on managing clients within this specialism, advising patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
3. Developing and evaluating service provision to improve delivery.
4. Supporting multidisciplinary teams, agencies, and carers with specialist knowledge, including contributing to education and research, such as the SPELL & ROBUST trials.
5. Ensuring best practice and adherence to guidelines like NICE for preterm management and spasticity.
6. Leading and managing the CPIP service independently.
7. Developing local guidelines and collecting data for research and audits.
8. Performing advanced assessments and treatments for complex neurodevelopmental cases, maintaining autonomous practice records.
9. Supervising and teaching physiotherapists, students, and team members.
10. Staying updated with developments, undertaking audits, and participating in research projects.
11. Implementing evidence-based clinical changes within the specialism.
12. Providing training and advice to the multidisciplinary team on advanced patient care management.
