About The Role
This is a newly created role in the London-based Finance team that will work closely with the HR team to ensure that the monthly payroll accurately reflects employee benefits and that payments are made promptly.
The Group outsources its payroll to Papaya, an external provider, who works with in-country partners. The HR team maintains the Group’s HR platform, BambooHR, to reflect employee data, including benefits.
This role will liaise with HR and Papaya to ensure payroll accuracy and timely payments. It will also verify that payroll postings to the accounting ledger by the General Ledger (GL) team in Poland are correct.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support payroll operations, including processing, data entry, and reporting.
* Review monthly payroll inputs from HR, reconcile with draft UK payroll files from the provider, and validate changes.
* Monthly reconciliation of the payroll liability account and resolution of discrepancies.
* Review pension input files monthly.
* Administer the UK private medical insurance scheme and serve as the main contact.
* Complete the P11D(b) form annually.
* Calculate PSA amounts related to employee expenses.
* Manage and review the PAYE HMRC account.
* Assess payroll processes and controls across the Group and collaborate with the GFC to implement improvements.
* Assist with tax year-end and freelancer reporting as needed.
* Support group financial year-end reporting related to staff costs for audits.
Candidate Requirements:
* At least 1 year of payroll administration experience.
* Professional, self-motivated, with strong communication and influencing skills.
* Proficient in MS Excel and analytical skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with payroll, HR, and finance teams.
* Attention to detail, numerate, and comfortable managing large data volumes.
* Good communication skills and proactive approach.
* Capable of managing multiple deadlines confidently.
