Senior Young People’s Health and Wellbeing Worker, Essex

Established as an independent company, our multidisciplinary team—including social workers, support workers, therapists, and teachers—uses therapeutic and evidence-based approaches to deliver positive outcomes for children, young people, and families.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Young People’s Health and Wellbeing Worker responsible for providing therapeutic interventions, guidance, and training to support more complex young people. The goal is to promote emotional wellbeing and facilitate transitions out of formal mental health services.
The role involves working with young people virtually, via phone, or in various venues across Essex, including homes, schools, and community centers. A UK driving license and willingness to travel across Essex are required, with mileage reimbursed according to our expenses policy.
You will manage a caseload, complete administrative tasks from home, and participate in team meetings, training, and supervision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide direct therapeutic support within the Progressions Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service to complex children, young people, and their families.
2. Work with young people experiencing emotional health concerns such as anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, communication issues, or trauma.
3. Build trust and relationships with service users, families, professionals, and external agencies.
4. Adhere to clinical governance frameworks to ensure safe, high-quality service delivery.
5. Attend or facilitate multidisciplinary team meetings to support transitions and address barriers.
6. Collaborate with other agencies to create seamless care pathways, including liaising with schools and colleges in Essex.
7. Provide supervision and training support to peer mentors.
8. Accurately record interventions and outcomes to monitor and review support plans.
9. Report safeguarding concerns promptly and in accordance with policies.
10. Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
11. Participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional development activities.
12. Maintain confidentiality, promote equality and diversity, and observe health and safety regulations.
13. Support the company’s values and demonstrate IT competence.
Essential Criteria
* Recognized therapeutic qualification or certification with relevant experience.
* Effective collaboration with mental health professionals.
* Background in social care, youth work, or related fields.
* Experience managing a caseload of children and young people.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
* Patient, committed, creative, reliable, and solution-focused.
* Personal experience of being a looked-after child or receiving emotional health support is welcomed.
* Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
* Willingness to travel across Essex.
