The Senior Electrical Construction Engineer role is a permanent position located in Bridgwater on the Hinkley Point C site. The role will serve as the topic lead for the installation of Cable Tray & Earthing Solutions within the Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC (MEH) joint venture.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the MEH joint‑venture topic lead for the installation of Main and Local Cable Tray & Earthing solutions scope.
* Provide safety advice and guidance related to the installation of local cable tray.
* Develop and implement the MEH joint‑venture delivery strategy for cable tray and earthing solutions.
* Support building delivery teams by preparing documentation required for cable tray and earthing installation.
* Liaise with execution designers, equipment suppliers and the EPM team to ensure requirements and information are supplied to support installation in line with the joint‑venture strategy.
* Ensure that “best for project” decisions are implemented for the local cable tray strategy.
* Support the development of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for the MEH joint‑venture local cable tray solutions.
* Maintain daily site records related to installation activities of cable trays and earthing.
* Generate accurate inspection records to support MEH joint‑venture inspection and test plans.
* Deliver daily safety briefings to the site installation teams.
* Accurately record time for site installation activities.
* Create quality records, ITP/R and LTQRs.
Qualifications
* HNC in a relevant construction discipline or electrical engineering with extensive experience in a similar role.
* Good working knowledge of electrical cable containment and earthing installations.
* Proven experience safely delivering large‑scale construction or engineering projects at a management level of authority.
* Experience in nuclear or other highly regulated sectors.
* Experience working with joint ventures is desirable.
