A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in the team to join a UK known manufacturer in the Pulborough!
With no day ever being the same, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be in the centre of innovative and exciting projects. With the support of a growing company you will have opportunities for long term progression and career development.
The Senior Mechanical Designer Engineer role will involve:
* Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
* Managing a small team of Designers
* Perform mechanical design calculations and analyses using FEA tools
* Review drawings and design results
* Analyse component data and assess for suitability for DFM
* Being involved in recruitment / expanding the team
* Seeing through design projects from concept through to completion
* Producing 3D designs using Solidworks
* Generating the BOM's to go with the associated designs
* Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required
* You will be working closely with project engineers, physicists and production staff.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Degree BSc / BEng qualification in Mechanical Engineering
* Proficiency with 3D CAD software - ideally Solid Works but other programmes might also be considered
* Minimum 3 years of industry experience, working on designs for manufacture
* Ideally have some experience supervising others and leading teams
* Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations
* Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
* Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
* Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office
