The role
As a Weapons Engineering Lead Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your expertise will directly contribute to national defence and your own professional growth.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead a small team of skilled Technicians working on the maintenance, installation and fault diagnosis of aviation, degaussing and munition systems during complex refit periods of T23 Warships.
* Leading maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
* Ensuring systems meet engineering standards and operational readiness
* Supporting planned maintenance and defect resolution to meet performance targets
* Presenting systems for Harbour Acceptance Trials (HAT)
* Managing health and safety compliance within your section
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential Experience
* Proven experience as a mechanically and electrically biased Technician or Engineer
* Hands-on knowledge of complex machinery and systems
* Familiarity with degaussing and munitions handling
* Experience leading and managing personnel
* Strong communication skills and computer literacy
Qualifications
* HNC/ONC or equivalent in an engineering discipline
* Equivalent experience will also be considered
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
