Our employment law, tax, and payroll specialists provide comprehensive legal and financial consulting services related to human resources. They work closely with clients to ensure compliance with employment law and tax requirements, offering guidance on employment contracts, employee benefits, payroll taxes, and legal risk mitigation.
Our Employment Tax, Incentives, and Payroll (ETIP) team, part of the wider Tax and Legal practice, provides advice to manage organisational and people challenges through tailored solutions.
As part of the ETIP team, you'll help clients ensure correct employee payments and tax compliance, supporting their governance on tax and pay issues. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career by solving complex issues and advising on governance frameworks.
The Role:
This position is for an Employment Tax adviser within the ETIP team. You will advise management on employment regulations across various sectors, including UK listed (PLC and AIM) and unlisted businesses. Responsibilities include:
* Advising on employment taxes and social security compliance for remuneration packages under UK legislation
* Providing international employment tax advice, including coordinating global advice and advising on international moves
* Ensuring client compliance with UK legislation on paying staff, including minimum wage and holiday pay
* Assisting with benefit structures and salary sacrifice arrangements
* Guiding engagement with off-payroll workers and governance structures for tax assessments
* Advising on the Construction Industry Scheme
* Helping clients establish internal governance for employment taxes and pay regulations
* Supporting HMRC enquiries and disclosures
* Managing client relationships, risk processes, billing, and cash collection
* Training junior team members
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Experience in employment taxes, either in-house or consultancy
* Qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT (desirable)
* Time management skills
* Ability to deliver clear, bespoke advice
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
* Report writing skills
