Pharmacy Technician 40/E page is loaded## Pharmacy Technician 40/Elocations: Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouthtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR94291**When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.**REGISTERED PHARMACY TECHNICIAN 40HPW - Evening Shift**Job Description:****Duties/Responsibilities:*** Assists in the preparation of irrigation, intravenous admixture solutions, and other, using aseptic technique.* (must be able to perform repetitive hand motions for IV Room assignments and prepacking.)* Fills unit dose, Automated Dispensing Machines (ADM), stock requisitions and maintain inventory levels in OR, Endo & OB.* Delivers unit dose, ADM refills, intravenous solution and necessary pharmaceutical supplies to the nursing units. (must be able to walk and/or stand for assigned shift)* Fills medication labels, subject to final check by a pharmacist.* Prepares pre-packaged medications in commonly used quantities.* Assists with inventory control of supplies and medications. Receives and shelves supplies and medications. Performs cycle counts and monthly review of stock for expired medications.* Cleans pharmacy equipment, utensils and work areas.*It is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required.***Education/Experience Required:*** Must be 18 years of age or older.* Ability to read, write and understand English at the 12th Grade level, follow orders, and written and illustrated instruction. Ability to perform arithmetical computations (add, subtract, etc.).* Must have passed Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration exam; all requirements of Pharmacy Technician Trainee* Must know basic IV admixture processes as well as sterile procedures.* Must have good math, computer and communication skills.* Must have clear understanding of medication names (brand and generic), common dosing and sig codes, and medical terminology.* PTCB certification within 2 testing cycles of starting job.**Registration/Certification:*** Must be registered by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy as a Technician.* Must maintain license from Board of Pharmacy.**Physical/Environmental Requirements**This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.**Pay Range:**$19.90 - $34.81This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
