Competitive pro‑rata salary of £27,785 – £43,325 (£22,228 – £34,660) per annum, 29.6 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Role Overview
The role focuses on delivering aspirational, purposeful GCSE English lessons to students resitting their GCSEs, primarily those studying construction and related vocational programmes. You will plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons aligned to the exam board specification, designed for resit learners and adapted to the construction context.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and assess GCSE English lessons for resit learners, ensuring alignment with the exam board specification.
* Develop and provide effective training materials, including online resources, tailored for vocational learners.
* Prepare learning materials and assessments, and ensure timely completion of assignments.
* Deliver training sessions to students, either onsite or at employer premises.
* Liaise with colleagues to maintain high standards of learning.
* Provide constructive feedback to students.
* Complete administration duties and produce reports and statistics on student progress and teaching matters.
Qualifications and Skills
* Relevant GCSE / Functional Skills / ESOL teaching and assessing experience in a related subject.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
* Understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups.
* Level 3 (or equivalent) in a related subject.
* Level 3 coaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
