We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and engaging class teacher to join the teaching team at The Edinburgh Academy Junior School and Nursery for the 26/27 academic session. This role is 0.4 FTE working Thursdays and Fridays.
A class teacher at The Edinburgh Academy Junior School has responsibility for all core academic subjects, including Maths which is taught in sets from Primary 4. There is specialised teaching Modern Foreign Languages, PE & Games, Science, Music and Art (from P3). The current Junior School timetable is based on 45-minute periods.
The Junior School and Nursery sits in its own self-contained and extensive campus near the Botanic Gardens which provides the ideal environment for our youngest learners. In addition to the specialist provision above, our class teachers regularly work alongside Outdoor Learning experts to take education outside, bolstering resilience and wellbeing. Character Education forms an important part of the holistic education at The Edinburgh Academy and children learn about what it means to demonstrate our school values in their daily behaviours and choices.
