Our Manchester-based client provides an end-to-end, back-office service solution for medical doctors and is looking for a new Medical Secretary to join the team.

Having the whole back-office function under ‘one roof’ allows the medical specialist to have peace of mind that their practice will run smoothly and enables us to develop the practice alongside the specialist.
About the role
The role is working as one of a team of Private Practice Medical Secretaries and adhering to the Company's values. You will have to work closely with several clinicians of differing specialities and support the other Secretaries and their clinicians.
1. Preparing consultants’ clinics, correspondence and patient records
2. Working on patient Electronic Patient Record (EPR Data bases)
3. Dealing with extensive telephone and email enquiries
4. Organising investigations and obtaining results
5. Ensuring 100% accuracy for the specialists’ transcriptions/patient consultation records (letters)
6. Organising patients’ requirements and treatment management
For Client Accounts:
7. Liaising with patients regarding consultation payments,
8. Liaising with insurance companies to ensure authorisation of patient treatments..
9. Prompt billing of all invoices to Insurance companies through the EDI/Healthcode system
10. Working closely with Finance Team on all invoicing issues.
Progression and Development
11. Medical Secretary/Personal Assistant (PA), to be responsible for the total administration of an individual medical specialist. This will depend on one’s own ability and development and desire to attain this.

14. Increasing the income for your clinicians and consequently for the business.
T he person will need to be :
15. Previous Healthcare Experience ( Desirable but not essential)
16. Numerate, highly organised and assertive
17. A Team player
18. Strong in IT and have good communication skills
19. Personable and patient
20. Min of 4-5 GCSEs including Math and English or equivalent
21. Driving License is preferable as one may need to travel between hospital sites on occasion.
22. Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
23. Flexible and adaptable to change – able to work in a fast-paced environment.
24. Presentable, personable, punctual and trustworthy.
25. Hours: 9.00am – 5.30pm variable. (Friday 4.30pm)
