Role: Senior Support Worker
Location: Conkers, Mirfield
Salary: £14.31/hr plus great benefits and enhanced rates of pay for overtime and bank holidays
Hours: 37.5hrs
Conkers is a lively and welcoming 7 bed residential home for Young Adults who have Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. We are looking for some amazing new people to join our team. As a Senior Support Worker, your role will be as varied as the adults we care for, but day to day duties will include:
Responsibilities
* Supervising our dedicated team of Support Workers
* Promoting person-centred, high quality care
* Conducting supervisions and one to ones with staff
* Auditing, updating, and reviewing documentation including care plans
* Administering and auditing medication

Key Role Responsibilities
* Operations Management: To manage the day to day service provision of the key worker group to ensure effective deployment of staff with a hands-on approach in assessing competence
* Resource Management: To identify, assess and manage resource requirements to ensure adequate stock and equipment
* People Management & Personal Development: To provide day to day line-management of a team of Support Workers and carry out regular supervision meetings; assess and verify competence of staff in meds administration and other required skills; provide inductions, coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities
* Adult Review Meetings: To attend annual review meetings and coordinate attendance
* Development of Autonomy: To work with key worker groups to build relationships that support care programmes
* Communication: To communicate effectively across verbal, written, and electronic mediums; ensure handovers; uphold the Mental Capacity Act
* Nutritional Needs: To support adults with dietary requirements and basic food hygiene
* Personal Care: To assist with hygiene and privacy while following care plans
* Behaviour Management: To manage behaviour per care plans and review updates
* Medication: To coordinate and administer medications and feeds per policies
* Moving and Handling: To apply safe lifting techniques with appropriate equipment
* Postural Management: To follow physiotherapy postural guidelines
* Environment and Property: To keep the environment safe, clean, and secure
* Social, Leisure and Community: To support access to activities and community links
* Documentation: To document tasks and updates in required records and monitor care plans; report incidents timely
* Quality Assurance: To monitor quality checks and audits as defined by policy
* Safeguarding: To follow safeguarding procedures to protect service users
* Confidentiality: To protect privacy under Data Protection Act and governance policies
* Flexibility: To perform other duties as required to meet organisational needs
