A young lady with Cerebal Palsey and Epilepsy from Carmarthen requires a Personal Assistant for 5 hours per week. This will help her to be more confident and develop her self‑esteem. To assist her to go out undertaking social, leisure and employment opportunities/activities of her choosing, including going for lunch, visiting the cinema, going for walks, developing friendships and accessing social and leisure activities.
Responsibilities
* Assisting the employer to go out for lunch, visiting the cinema, going for walks and develop friendships and access social and leisure activities.
* Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence.
* Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills.
* Providing companionship in the employer's home, including engaging in conversation with them and providing social interaction.
* Encouraging the employer to attend appointments.
* Ensuring the employer's safety at all times during working hours.
* Carrying out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during working hours.
* Ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act.
* Mindfulness of safeguarding issues, and feedbacking any concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council immediately at 01267 228751.
* Being responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.

* Ability to develop a supportive and caring relationship with the employer.
* Undertaking all duties in a friendly and helpful manner.
* Ability to contact people on behalf of the employer when necessary.

* A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is likely to be required, determined by the needs of the employer and whether you live within walking distance.
* Must be prepared to have business use on your vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
* Prepared to undergo training in order to best meet the employer's need.
