Elburton Primary School is seeking an experienced, committed, and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a pivotal role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school.

As a valued member of our staff, you will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging learning activities and contribute to the progress and development of our pupils. You will also take responsibility for leading whole-class sessions, managing classroom support staff, and contributing to the wider life of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver whole-class learning during teachers' PPA time and provide short-term cover for staff absence.

* Plan and lead learning activities for individuals, groups, and whole classes across all year groups, including EYFS, KS1, and KS2.

* Work in partnership with teachers to assess pupils' needs, set learning objectives, and evaluate progress.

* Use your own initiative to prepare and adapt learning resources, supporting students' access to the curriculum.

* Support pupils with additional needs, contributing to individual education plans and transition arrangements.

* Lead and manage designated support staff, contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment.

* Build strong, effective relationships with pupils, staff, parents/carers, and outside professionals.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

* GCSE Grade C / 4 or above in English and Maths.

* Relevant experience working in a primary school setting.

* Ability to plan and deliver lessons confidently and effectively.

* Strong understanding of teaching methods, curriculum frameworks, and SEND support strategies.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and adults alike.

* IT literacy and confidence in using technology to support learning.

* Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and the ethos of the school.

Desirable:

* NVQ Level 3 or higher (or working towards).

* Degree-level qualifications in an education-related field.

* Experience across all key stages including EYFS.

* First Aid training.
