Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Nottingham, United Kingdom. As a key member of our kitchen leadership, you will work closely with the Head Chef to create specials menus, manage daily operations, and inspire our team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and execute a la carte, specials and function menus
* Lead and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a positive and professional work environment
* Ensure consistent high-quality food preparation and presentation across all dishes
* Manage inventory, food costs, and kitchen resources efficiently
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
* Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction
* Assist in staff scheduling and training to meet operational needs
* Oversee kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence
* Contribute to menu planning, including daily specials and seasonal updates
* Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, arranging repairs when necessary
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready for advancement
* Professional experience or relevant qualifications
* Demonstrated leadership skills in a high-volume, high-quality kitchen environment
* Exceptional culinary techniques and knowledge of various cuisines
* Strong organizational and time management abilities
* Positive, collaborative attitude with a passion for creating memorable dining experiences
* Current food safety certification
* Proficiency in kitchen management software
* Creativity and innovation in menu development and food presentation
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
