Owen Daniels are supporting an established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to lead, inspire and deliver continuous improvement across engineering and production operations.
This is a hands-on role for a technically strong engineer who can combine leadership, structured problem-solving and project delivery to improve processes, introduce new machinery and support business growth.
The Role
You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of departmental activities while driving improvements aligned to business plans. Acting as a technical leader, you will invest knowledge into the workforce through training, clear communication and visible leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
* Project management of new machinery, systems, equipment and process introductions
* Supporting new product introduction and improvement of existing processes
* Identifying and eliminating inefficiencies using tools such as 5 Whys, A3 and Root Cause Analysis
* Cost estimating, documenting and supporting engineering changes
* Investigating production non-conformances and implementing robust controls
* Ensuring manufacturing processes are supported by appropriate training, documentation and quality controls
* Ensuring compliance with current machinery, safety and environmental legislation
* Delivering targeted improvement events using data-driven analysis
* Reviewing improvement results to ensure objectives are met
* Preparing reports and presenting updates to team members and senior management
* Working closely with production support teams to reduce waste, minimise downtime and improve delivery performance
* Supporting the development of an ongoing engineering roadmap aligned to business goals
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
* Strong mechanical and electronic engineering fundamentals within a manufacturing environment
* Proven experience in Process Engineering or a similar role
* Strong working knowledge of process engineering software
* Knowledge of process-related standards
* Ability to read and create engineering drawings
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to optimise layouts, production lines, workflows and machine operations
* Pneumatic control systems
* Electrical control systems
* PLC and HMI software (design, modification and fault-finding)
* Proficient with Microsoft Office systems
* CNC programming experience
* Energetic, positive and proactive approach
