About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students to help them manage their behaviour, engage positively in lessons, and develop essential social and emotional skills.
Responsibilities:
Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, or social challenges in and outside of the classroom.
Encouraging positive behaviour strategies to enable engagement with learning.
Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored activities for individual students.
Building strong, trusting relationships with students to promote self-confidence and resilience.
Working with parents, carers, and external agencies where necessary to support student progress.
Providing feedback to teachers and maintaining accurate records of progress and behaviour.
Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment for all learners.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs is highly desirable but those who are willing to work are also encouraged to apply.
CACHE Level 2/3 in Childcare, NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
