The Role
As a Credit Controller, you’ll play a key role in managing and collecting company debts, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the wider finance team. You’ll be based partly at our Durham office and partly from home, offering flexibility and autonomy in your working week.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively manage and collect outstanding debts
* Ensure timely payments and follow up as needed
* Reconcile the company bank account daily
* Respond to client enquiries and maintain accurate account notes
* Evaluate new credit requests and review customer credit ratings
* Set up credit terms and conditions
* Prepare and send monthly statements
* Produce weekly and monthly financial reports
* Maintain accurate records using Xero
* Build and maintain positive customer relationships
* Collaborate across departments to support business goals
* Assist with general finance administration tasks
Essential
What We’re Looking For
* Financial administration experience
* Proven debt chasing and credit control skills
* Strong organisational and time management abilities
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* PC literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
* GCSE Mathematics & English Grade C/4 or above
Desirable
* Experience in a fast-paced commercial environment
* Familiarity with Xero accounting software
* Recognised accounting qualifications
