HGV Class 1 Driver - Container / Port Work - C+E - Falkirk
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver - Container / Port Work - C+E to join our well-established client based in Falkirk. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
This role involves container collections and deliveries using Class 1 C+E vehicles, working with 20ft-45ft containers, skelly trailers and twistlocks across Scotland.
Shifts
• Monday to Friday (weekend work available)• AM start times from 05:30
Rates of Pay
• £15.00 per hour (Monday to Friday)• £18.00 per hour (Weekends)

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Container Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Completing Class 1 container terminal collections and dock work• Operating 20ft to 45ft container boxes safely and efficiently• Operating Category C+E vehicles in line with transport regulations• Working with skelly trailers, twistlocks and sliding trailers• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections• Ensuring containers are loaded, secured and transported safely• Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations• Communicating with the transport office and customers• Reporting any vehicle defects or issues• Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Essential Skills
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Container Driver, you will need:
• A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence• A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience• A valid Driver CPC qualification• A valid Digital Tachograph card• No more than six penalty points for minor offences• No major endorsement codes• Good spoken and written English• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping• Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
Desirable Experience
• Previous container or port driving experience• Experience using skelly trailers, twistlocks and sliders
Training Provided
• Driver induction and driving assessment required prior to starting• One-day paid induction following successful assessment• Ongoing industry-related training and support
