The core of our global technology department’s mission is to provide stable, reliable, and secure platforms and services to our partners, staff, and clients across more than 30 countries. We have around 400 technologists predominantly based in the UK, Singapore, and the US.
Enterprise Technology Platforms include the Cloud and Infrastructure Platform, Power Platform & Automation, and Microsoft 365 platforms. They define, design, and deliver architecture, roadmaps, and customer solutions aligned to business goals, technology strategy, and enterprise architecture.
What You Will Do
* Reporting to the Cloud Platform Architect, responsible for designing Cloud and infrastructure services and processes that make up the Cloud & Infrastructure Platform that support the business globally.
* Translating business requirements into technical and process designs, guiding engineering teams through delivery to ensure the Cloud and Infrastructure Platform meets current and future needs, is secure, operationally excellent, and cost efficient.
* Defining, designing and delivering network and infrastructure architecture for all Cloud, WAN, and LAN requirements, including end‑user compute.
* Working with global IT leadership to translate business goals into technology and process designs for the Cloud and Infrastructure Platform Roadmap.
* Supporting project delivery leadership on business projects requiring Cloud and Infrastructure Platform services.
* Accountable for all aspects of the network architecture and engineering, delivering functional and non‑functional requirements within operational and cost constraints.
* Ensuring the future network architecture meets business needs and maintains ownership of designs for all projects and growth.
* Delivering architecture, designs and engineering for multiple complex projects across the business and the core Cloud Platform Roadmap concurrently.
* Managing workload for network architecture, design and engineering across multiple projects and the roadmap to ensure successful delivery within expectations and timelines.
* Supporting the Cloud Platform Architect with:
o Maintaining the multi‑year Cloud & Infrastructure Platform Roadmap aligned to business goals and strategy, delivering security, operational excellence and cost efficiency.
o Delivering the Roadmap.
* Leading architecture and engineering resources, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks, best practice, risk management, guardrails and compliance across teams, using internal and external resources.
* Delivering designs for the Cloud and Infrastructure Platform and other projects using blueprints, technical specifications, and standards.
* Supporting development of business cases for new initiatives requiring the Platform services and processes.
* Engaging and contracting with external suppliers with commercial acumen.
* Ensuring successful delivery of critical services needed by other technology Platforms, business and customer projects, providing timeline, skills and effort estimates, forecasting capacity, and future demand for services and processes.
What You Will Have
* Relevant technical architecture qualifications and certifications for at least one major Cloud provider, preferably Microsoft Azure.
* Deep expertise of at least one Cloud provider, preferably Microsoft Azure and associated network services.
* At least 10 years’ experience in technology architecture, engineering and networking using a range of tools.
* Deep understanding of Cloud Computing, Network design, protocols, Storage, Infrastructure as Code, Containerization and Information Security.
* Ability to solve complex business and technology problems under demanding timescales.
* Ability to translate business goals and strategy into technology designs.
* Ability to innovate and adopt new technologies to keep the Platform ready for new business demands.
* Strong understanding and experience of architectural governance frameworks, best practices, compliance and risk management.
* Experience operating architectural governance processes and logistics, including design authorities and review.
* Good understanding of project delivery lifecycle, from concept to delivery, methodologies and finance.
* Good understanding of operational lifecycle, from go‑live to decommissioning and maintenance.
* Ability to select and work with vendors to deliver business outcomes on time, budget and scope.
* Ability to influence stakeholders, including IT leadership and peers across the global IT organization.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
