Are you passionate about helping young people close learning gaps and build confidence in literacy and numeracy? Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and supportive Intervention Specialists to work across secondary schools in the Paignton area on a supply basis starting from January.
This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, tutors, teaching assistants, or education professionals who enjoy working with small groups or individuals to make a real impact on pupil progress.

About the Role
As an Intervention Specialist, you will:
* Deliver targeted literacy and/or numeracy interventions to small groups or individual pupils
* Support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, particularly those needing catch-up support
* Use pre-planned intervention programmes or adapt resources to meet individual learning needs
* Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and SEN teams
* Build confidence, engagement, and positive attitudes to learning
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

About You
* Patient, organised, and supportive in your approach
* Strong literacy and/or numeracy skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to engage and motivate learners who may lack confidence
* Experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable but not essential
* A degree or strong academic background in English, Maths, or a related subject is advantageous
This role is an excellent stepping stone for those considering a future career in teaching, SEN, educational psychology, or pastoral support. Many Intervention Specialists progress into teacher training, SEN roles, or permanent school-based positions through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
