AR Pharmacy is an innovative and growing independent pharmacy group operating a modern automated dispensing hub in West Totton. We are looking for a Store Manager to lead the front-of-house retail operation and customer experience within our flagship hub site.
This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the shop floor, supervising the counter team, maintaining high retail standards and ensuring patients receive an excellent and efficient service.
This position would suit an experienced retail manager, pharmacy supervisor, or senior pharmacy counter assistant looking to step into management.
The Role
As Store Manager you will oversee the day-to-day running of the pharmacy shop floor and customer service areas.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager and pharmacy team to ensure smooth patient flow between the retail counter and the dispensing hub.
Key Responsibilities
Retail & Store Management
* Manage the day-to-day retail operation of the pharmacy shop
* Maintain high standards of presentation, merchandising and cleanliness
* Manage stock levels, ordering and retail product availability
* Monitor retail sales performance and identify opportunities to grow OTC revenue
Team Leadership
* Supervise and support the pharmacy counter team
* Organise rotas and ensure appropriate staffing at busy periods
* Train and develop counter staff in customer service and product knowledge
* Promote a positive, professional and patient-focused culture
Customer Experience
* Ensure patients receive friendly, efficient service
* Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally
* Support the promotion of NHS and private pharmacy services
Operational Support
* Coordinate patient flow between the counter and dispensing teams
* Ensure prescriptions are managed efficiently at the front counter
* Support service delivery such as vaccinations, travel clinic and other pharmacy services
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, confident managing people and passionate about customer service.
Essential
* Previous retail or customer service management experience
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Excellent communication and organisational ability
* A proactive and hands-on approach
Desirable
* Pharmacy experience
* Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification
* Experience in healthcare retail
