The role
Operational Electrical Engineer in the Onshore Wind, Solar & Battery Electrical Engineering team within the UK. You will support the asset integrity of Wind, Solar & Battery assets across multiple operational sites, providing technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams.
You will
* Perform Operational Duties as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) up to 275kV, including maintenance and fault response on high‑value electrical assets.
* Provide Technical Support, including troubleshooting, safety investigations and response to electrical plant issues that could affect service continuity or Grid Code compliance.
* Manage Asset Integrity, monitoring plant health and responding to emergent safety or business issues, and reviewing and improving maintenance standards.
* Handle Contractor Management, from specification and scope writing, through technical evaluation of proposals, to planning, setting to work and continuous monitoring of safety and performance.
* Deliver Project Management, offering direct project management support for specific activities requiring safety, reliability and design improvement.
You have
* Minimum HND level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in an operational, maintenance or construction environment, preferably within an HV environment.
* A full driving licence and ability to travel regularly across the UK and Ireland.
* Existing SAP certification or ability to demonstrate competence to achieve it, with working knowledge of electrical equipment and systems (protection systems, HV switchgear, electrical generating plant, HV/LV transformers, control systems).
* Experience in managing projects and contractors with a proven track record of delivery.
* Knowledge of Wind, Solar or Battery technology preferred but not essential.
