Advanced Cancer Care Pharmacist

Band 8a | 1.0 WTE | 37 Hours |Permanent

£62,681- £67,665

(including weekend, on-call and public holiday rota commitments)

Join our expert Cancer Services Pharmacy team at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and take the lead in delivering high-quality cancer care. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and motivated pharmacist to step into a senior role with real impact.

About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, forward thinking and highly motivated pharmacist to join the senior pharmacy team in Cancer Services. You will be based at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre (ECC) within the Southeast of Scotland Cancer Network (SCAN).

Working in this new role, you will have a key focus on Cancer Medicines Governance, working to:


* provide pharmacy leadership and oversight to the safe and timely introduction of cancer medicines
* undertake horizon scanning, assessing the impact of new cancer medicines
* lead on the development of implementation plans and ensure budgetary forecasting and service readiness
* work closely with the clinical multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe implementation
* make important contributions to protocol and guideline development through local and regional SACT & medicines governance groups
* use your non-medical prescribing qualification in a patient facing clinical role

The ECC provides inpatient, outpatient, and day-case services to oncology and haematology patients and is a hub of excellence for cancer care.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

* A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* A Clinical Diploma or Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy.
* An Independent Prescribing qualification.
* Proven experience in influencing prescribing in a cancer setting.
* A track record of delivering person-centred pharmaceutical care.
