Location: Hybrid – Hemel Hempstead – expected in office weekly
Job Length: 12 Month FTC– Full Time

Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Ice Tea and Rockstar Energy.

If you are interested in joining our journey, we are now recruiting for a Legal Counsel .Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, this role will play a key part of our success journey, and you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following:
Role Responsibilities:
* Acting as a trusted advisor to your stakeholder group by providing legal support to the Sales & Marketing teams across a range of projects.
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial contracts (including customer sales contracts, licences, non-disclosure agreements and sponsorship agreements) to protect Carlsberg Britvic’s commercial and legal position and minimise risk.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams within the business to meet business objectives.
* Continually improve standard contracts and guidance to reflect improvements and changes to processes and legislation.
* Advising on avoiding and managing disputes and advising on strategy for resolution, including risk assessment, negotiating settlements, drafting correspondence and preparing for litigation.
* Manage and advise in relation to other ad hoc matters as they occur, including employment matters, customer care support, incident management, and company secretarial matters.
* Keep abreast of legal updates and sharing with the team and stakeholders as necessary in the form of training sessions, guidance notes etc.
* Promote legal best practice and compliance throughout the Carlsberg Britvic business.
Experience and Key Attributes:
* Law Degree plus LPC/ SQE (0-2 PQE)
* Completed training contract at a leading private practice law firm or other high-profile organisation.
* Non-contentious, commercial experience, including experience in some or all of: commercial contracts, IP, labelling, advertising, promotions and sponsorship and industry specific regulations
* Awareness of issues relating to competition law, data protection, business ethics, employment, product liability and licensing
* Excellent relationship building skills
* Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
* Good numeracy and commercial understanding
* Well organised and able to prioritise conflicting pressures and multiple stakeholders
* A desire to proactively engage with all areas of the business
* The ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex legal information, and interpret contract documents and applicable legislation, regulations and codes of practice
* Excellent time management skills with a strong attention to detail
* Good project and stakeholder management
