Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our large team of ANPs, Nurses and Health Care Assistants by working across our two sites.
You will work as part of the Nursing team, delivering chronic disease management while also responsible for childhood immunisations, cervical screening and travel vaccinations to name a few areas. You will bring ideas for quality improvement and streamline nursing services, and a passion for outstanding patient experience.
You will report to and work closely with our Practice Manager and Clinical Team to support our patients in the best way possible.
Main duties of the job
* ECGs
* Venepuncture
* New patient medicals
* Chaperone procedure
* Requesting pathology tests and processing the results, advising patients accordingly
* Travel medicine
* Diabetes
* Hypertension
* Asthma
* COPD
* Spirometry
* CHD
* Immunisations (routine, childhood and travel)
* Womens health (cervical cytology, contraception, etc.)
* Understand the importance of evidence based practice
* Broad knowledge of clinical governance
* Ability to record accurate clinical notes
* Ability to work within own scope of practice and understand when to refer to GPs
* Understanding of infection prevention and control measures
* Knowledge of health promotion strategies
* Understand the requirement for PGDs and associated policy
Depending on experience, We will encourage you to support the training and development for nurses and health care assistants within the Practice. The successful applicant along with the practice manager will contribute to continuous development of nursing services to deliver efficient, effective and outstanding patient services.

To ensure read codes are used effectively
