We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Basildon, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher passionate about preparing upper Key Stage 2 pupils for their transition to secondary school, both academically and socially.

As a Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will create a stimulating learning environment, promote positive behaviour, and support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
* Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, providing targeted support where needed
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN
* Promote positive behaviour, independence, and resilience
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development
* Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating classroom environment
* Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and school leadership
* Contribute to school events, enrichment activities, and extra-curricular programmes
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and resources
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
* Have experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, preferably Year 6
* Be passionate, creative, and committed to high-quality teaching
* Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills
* Be able to differentiate learning for pupils of varying abilities
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
