Learning Support Worker – Wirral | Empowering Pupils With SEND Across Local Schools
Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in school? TalentBoard is seeking committed Learning Support Workers to join our growing team across Wirral mainstream schools and specialist SEND provisions.
This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH needs, communication difficulties, and behavioural challenges, enabling them to grow in confidence and achieve meaningful progress in a safe, inclusive environment.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Worker, you’ll play an essential role in helping pupils access learning and succeed on a daily basis. Your responsibilities may include:
* Delivering 1:1 support and small-group interventions tailored to individual needs
* Assisting with IEP/EHCP targets, behaviour plans and adapted learning tasks
* Creating a supportive, calm and engaging classroom environment
* Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external specialists
* Promoting independence, emotional resilience and social development
* Following safeguarding procedures and prioritising pupil wellbeing at all times
All applicants must hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS Check, ideally registered on the Update Service.
Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need to come from a teaching background — we welcome applications from people with experience in:
* Education, tutoring, youth work or mentoring
* Residential care, support work or social care
* Mental health, nursing, counselling or wellbeing support
* Sports coaching, community work or voluntary roles with vulnerable groups
If you are patient, compassionate, adaptable and passionate about inclusive learning, we’d love to hear from you. Qualifications in education, childcare, psychology or similar fields are helpful but not essential.
