Overview
An industrial placement with the National Physical Laboratory offers hands‑on support to the Financial Planning & Analysis team. The placement runs from 1st July 2026 to 14th August 2027, and you will work closely with the Head of Financial Strategy & Planning, Commercial and Management Accounting teams. This fixed‑term role provides experience in management information reporting, growth support and transactional activities.
Responsibilities
* Financial reporting, data analysis and manipulation.
* Using finance systems, including MS Dynamics 365, Salesforce and Power BI.
* Developing and applying Microsoft Excel skills (training provided).
* Providing guidance and support on finance queries to scientists and external stakeholders.
* Assisting with ad‑hoc projects and wider finance functions.
