Job Summary
'Smoke' is a contemporary café and wine bar situated in Wilmslow, and now expanding to open a second site on Princess Street in Knutsford. Linked to The Cheshire Smokehouse and continuing their ethos of offering 'real food' and will continue supporting other high quality local food and drink producers.
Smoke is open 7 days a week serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and evening snacks along with a range of the best wines, beers and spirits from both local small-batch breweries and continental specialists.
We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to work on our bar. We serve breakfast, brunch and lunch from 8am with our evening menu starting from 4pm. We offer a wide selection of beers, wines and gins so prior knowledge of this is favourable. We encourage all members of our team to contribute to our menus so passion is frequently rewarded. Progression is also available as our small business grows and develops into multiple sites.
A variety of skills is beneficial for this role, however training in all aspects will be provided. The key requirement is as a love of good food and drink. Flexible candidates preferred.
Duties
* Greet guests warmly and manage reservations efficiently
* Take orders accurately and serve food and beverages in a professional manner
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area and service stations
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
* Handle customer enquiries courteously and resolve any issues promptly
* Support baristas with drink preparation as needed
* Restock supplies and assist in setting up for special events or functions
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow
Skills
* Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality environments is desirable
* Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
* Strong communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
* Basic food preparation skills are beneficial
* Experience in restaurant or barista roles is an advantage
* Organised with excellent attention to detail
* A team player who can adapt to a dynamic work environment
