CSS783 Scrub Practitioner – Orthopaedics RGH – Aneurin Bevan University Health Board

Job Summary

A vacancy has become available for a highly motivated Scrub Practitioner to join our Orthopaedic scrub team and work within our dynamic theatre department at The Royal Gwent Hospital. The theatres at The Royal Gwent Hospital are very busy, covering specialities including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, ENT, Breast Surgery, Gynaecology and Urology. We are a supportive, friendly department strongly centred on teamwork and patient care.

Main duties of the job

Ideally, the candidate will have experience of working within the operating theatre; however, full support and training will be given to any motivated candidate. A full orientation programme will be provided. Candidates are expected to demonstrate commitment to personal development and a keen interest in the progression of theatre services and peri‑operative care. The Royal Gwent offers an elective‑only service from Monday to Friday and also supports other Health Board sites when required, so the successful candidate must be flexible to the service. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, hard‑working and work well within a team. The applicant must be a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner. Speaking Welsh is desirable but a Welsh and/or English speaker is welcome to apply.

* Applicants must have full, complete NMC/HCPC registration on application, or qualify within 3 months of the closing date.
